Year around activities

The club is involved in a wide variety of activities throughout the year that includes:

  • Field Day
  • Hospital Net
  • License Training
  • License Testing
  • Outdoor activities
  • Christmas party
  • Operator training

Monthly club training

The Monroe County Amateur Radio Society holds training on the second Thursday of each month in the Monroe County Hospital cafeteria. Testing begins at 5:30 PM and ends at 6:30 PM. The training starts at 6:30 PM and finishes at approximately 7:30 PM. The program is typically related to amateur radio but may be a related subject. Visitors are always welcome.

Whether a licensed operator or not, join us at the next meeting and learn more about amateur radio.

Club station

Fully equipped station for HF, VHF, UHF and Digital.

Weekly/Daily net

Join us on some of the weekly, daily and round table nets. There is also a monthly statewide hospital net.

Club repeater

The club has installed a 2 meter D-Star repeater and a 440 mixed mode analog/DMR repeater to serve Monroe County.

Public service

We are an active club involved in many community events by providing communications along parade routes, fitness events or in times of need. Many club members are trained weather spotters and participate in the NWS SKYWARN reporting network.
